About Digital World

The Digital World builds upon the concept of e-Asia 2011. The objective of e-Asia 2011 was to reinforce technology and knowledge-centric growth and needs of Asia along with Bangladesh, through capitalization of market economy and boosting human development. Digital World is a showcase of Bangladesh´s achievements. In addition it aims to learn from its global peers and to provide a forum for free-flow of ideas and concepts enriching current thoughts on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for development.

The Legacy: Looking Back to Digital World 2012

Digital World inaugurated in 2012 where the main focus was on using and leveraging ICTs and modern technology to boost up the economy of Bangladesh. The three days exhibition (6-8 December, 2012) was inaugurated by the Chief Guest of the Opening Ceremony, Begum Matia Chowdhury, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of The People's Republic of Bangladesh. Opening ceremony also had Sajeeb A. Wazed, International ICT Expert as Special Guest.

Digital World 2014

Like previous exhibition this year´s Digital World 2014 (DW2014) speakers and attendees will include policy-makers, senior government officials, industry leaders, international development agencies, civil society, academia, and investors. The exhibition will provide excellent opportunity for showcasing projects, programs and initiatives of government and private sector agencies/corporations, as also for demonstrating innovative ICT products, solutions and applications for various domains covered under the scope of the event. The conference as a whole will provide a unique opportunity for national and global stakeholders to come together and exchange ideas and solutions focused on the key element of all technological advancement: the citizen..

Digital World 2012 acknowledged, recognized and awarded the contributions and innovations of delivering public service to citizens in the gorgeous Award Night on 6th December, 12.This Innovation Award 2012 was presented by Access to Information (A2I-II) Programme, Prime Minister's Office. 46 persons were awarded in 11 categories in this Award Night Ceremony.

The event marked 28 sessions including seminar, workshop, roundtable, debate, etc with the participation of hundreds of international & national speakers. Around 140 exhibitors showcased their services while the young talents of the country displayed their innovations in the Experience lounge. A brief bio of the key speakers of DW 2012 is as follows-
